The fourth known Pryor foal born this year was discovered by Ginger of TCF.  This little filly was born to Fools Gold.  The sire could be Irial or Coronado, I’m leaning towards it being Coronado.  Coronado did have his family back in mid-June and kept them through mid-July of last year, when Irial claimed them again.  Currently they are in Irial’s band.

Fools Gold is the 2005 daughter of Amethyst and Shaman.  Coronado is the 1996 son of Isabella and Raven.  Irial is the 2008 so of Ireland and Prince.

The name of this new little one is, Pele.

Thank you Jack Sterling and 45 Degrees North for providing the photos for us to see.

The fifth known Pryor Foal born has been born to Fresia and most likely Hidalgo.  Also discovered by TCF, this little colt has been named Parry.

Fresia is the 2005 daughter of Buffalo Girl and Durango.  Hidalgo is the 2007 son of Buffalo Girl and Durango.  Umm..looks like there has been some inbreeding with this one.  Hope he remains healthy, or perhaps it is not Hidalgos, which would be even better.

  • Beautiful babies! I vote Coronado the sire too based on timeline (or maybe it’s just wishful thinking 😊). I was really hoping for a “Penny” to go with handsome Nickel LOL. Glad all look happy and healthy!

  • Hmmm… Little Parry sure does look like Hildago… Fingers crossed he’s not the sire, but from the looks of it this little colts got some serious inbreeding going on.

  • Two super cute babies!! I was very happy to see Fools Gold foal again. I’m leaning towards Coronado as the sire too. I love the face markings on Parry! Looks a lot like Hidalgo’s. Oak is linebred the same and so far doesnt appear to have any health issues so hopefully Parry will be healthy too. When Kootenai was still on the range did there ever seem to be any indications to you that he may be deaf? Or was it really not apparent until you had him home with you.

  • What gorgeous babies! And Nickle is turning out to be stunning 🙂 I was hoping for a filly named Penny too (I’ve been mentally calling a Fool’s Gold baby that for ages lol) I really like Pele too though and so pleased to see Fool’s Gold foal again! Hope Coronado is the sire 🙂

Parry has a beautiful face, it seems almost atypically petite though? Hope that’s nothing that would indicate an issue….he sure does look like Hidalgo :/ what a cutie though!

  • Thank you Jack for the additional pictures!! Judging by the way Pele’s belly looks I think she’s going to roan out. 🙂
