By the time I loaded the ATV and drove from Sykes to Burnt Timber and unloaded again it was 5:30 pm. I love these days of longer daylight. It really gives me the opportunity to see a lot.
After driving Sykes 10 miles up and 10 miles back down, it made Burnt Timber road look as if someone had done a major renovation on it while we were gone. The road looked so much better to me! Funny how fast your perspective can change.
Our plan was to head up towards the water guzzler and see what we could see before dark. We were both pretty tired, but we would be leaving the next day. I wanted to go up Burnt Timber one more time.
When we arrived at the guzzler I saw Cappuccino and his band. It had been a while since I had seen them. The last time was in July (2011). Lilly was just a small little thing then, only a couple of months old. She had grown so much. It was good to see them. Everyone looked good. We walked up a hill above the guzzle and watched. It was a beautiful sunny evening.
Blanca (Mariah) was looking good. She had come through the winter much better than the year before.
Lilly was busy. She first went over to Blanca and then came over to her mom, Gabrielle. This photo reminded me so much of the first time I saw Lilly last summer. I decided to also post that photo.
Lilly then decided to come up and see what Kootenai was doing and to get a closer look at us.
I was surprised at how much Kootenai had filled out. He went from a scrawny looking yearling to a handsome two-year old.
Kodiak had also grown into a handsome two-year old as well.
After a couple of hours they decided to move on. It had been another great day in the Pryors.
I still have two more days of Dryhead updates that I will post soon!
