Demure and Doc have a new foal! It looks like a filly. Thank you Shawn for the update. After a few weeks away, Demure is now back with Doc! I am really happy about that.
UPDATE: June 11, 2013. We believe this foal has died. She is no longer with Demure and Doc.
Demure is the 2003 daughter of Broken Bow and Two Boots, both of which are still on the range. Doc is the 2003 son of Winemucca and Little Foot and fondly referred to by Lori and I as “The Hunk”.
Do you know the name? She is beautiful!
No name yet. I will post it as soon as I learn what it is! 🙂
What a beautiful foal!!! Thank you Shawn & Sandy! That is our “hunk” Doc!!!! Now he has a new baby who will probably grow up to be a hunk too!!!! ( :
I am also glad that Demure is back with Doc!!
I think she is gorgeous. I hope it is a filly this time! So she won’t be a hunk, but a hunkess! 🙂
I Cant wait to see how London matures. I bet he will be a hunk just like his daddy!
Cute foal! I’m so glad that Demure is back with Doc. I was hoping when she went off to foal she would return to him 🙂 Now he gets to help raise their beautiful foal. I’m sure Mandan will be thrilled for a new playmate!!
I was thinking the same thing! Little Mandan looked so sad the day Demure left them. He just walked with his little head hung down. Now he will have a little sister (I think) to play with. I can’t wait to see them together! 🙂
Me too!
Yes…a “hunkette” Sandy! ( :
Often times when a mare leaves the band to give birth, there is a good chance that another young bachelor stallion or just another stallion who may try to take advantage of the situation and win her over. In this case I am happy that she has returned to Doc, and how happy to have a little “filly” (we think) Lovely!!!
Thanks Sandy and Shawn! I read in Shawn’s blog about a name choice for this one of “Naive.” I love it…goes so well with Demure.
You are welcome Nancy!
I also love that name as well!!
